Cancellation & Late Pick-Up Policy
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations by Participants
- Withdrawal at least 1 month or more prior to camp start date of the camp = Full refund
- Withdrawals made with less than 1 month notice = 50% refund
- Withdrawals made with less than 1 week notice = No refund
Cancellations due to COVID-19 symptoms or a positive COVID-19 test
If you, your child or any members of your household develop any related Covid-19 symptoms DO NOT come to camp.
If your child is suspected of having Covid-19 symptoms or has a positive Covid-19 test and is unable to attend the camp, the Vancouver Maritime Museum will provide the family a full-refund for the day missed and all other days that the attendee is unable to attend the camp.
In the event the Vancouver Maritime Museum has to cancel all or part of a program due to a positive COVID-19 test or a suspected COVID-19 outbreak at camp, the Vancouver Maritime Museum will provide all families with a full refund for the amount paid (or pro-rated if the program has already started).
Other Cancellations
In the event the Vancouver Maritime Museum has to cancel all or part of a program, for any reason whatsoever, families will be given advance notice and provided with a full credit for the amount paid (or pro-rated if the program has already started
Late Pick-up Policy
For camp participants who are not picked up on time, a late fee will be charged starting 5 minutes after the scheduled closing time. Fees are per child, not per family. Time is based on the front desk clock.
Late Fee Charges
- Late 5-15 minutes: $15
- Late 15-30 minutes: $30
- Late 30-60 minutes: $50
- Late 60 minutes: $100
*Payment is expected at the time of pickup. If no means of immediate payment is possible, parents must pay at drop off the next day.
*If a parent or authorized pick-up person does not arrive or call by 10 minutes past the designated pick-up time, staff will begin to call emergency contacts for your child.
*If a parent or guardian does not arrive for pickup within 1 hour of closing time and staff has not been able to speak with a parent or guardian and all other contacts have been exhausted, police will be notified for assistance.
Staff has work/personal obligations after closing time each day and late pick-up incurs extra costs to pay for staff. Please consider weather/traffic conditions and have an alternative pick-up plan with neighbours, relatives, or friends to ensure on-time pick-up.
