Set sail aboard the Gikumi, a classic west coast working vessel, for an unforgettable 5-hour journey through the heart of Vancouver’s waterways and the Fraser River. Glide past Jericho Beach, Spanish Banks, UBC, alongside the lands of the Musqueam First Nation heading up the North Arm of the Fraser River toward New Westminster, before heading towards Steveston along the South Arm, past Annacis Island and over the George Massey Tunnel.

This relaxing voyage offers a new and tranquil perspective of the region, perfect for nature lovers, history buffs, and anyone looking to unwind on the water.

Enjoy occasional onboard interpretation that brings the coastal landscape to life, while also giving you time to take in the views in peace.

Important Information:

  • Not recommended for children under 12

  • No wheelchair access on board (Gikumi is a historic wooden vessel), Ticket Holders will need to feel comfortable climbing stairs and manoeuvring around the vessel.

  • Ticket holders are welcome to bring their own food onboard. Charcuterie Boxes are available at additional cost (Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options)

  • Dress for coastal weather: layers, sweaters, and closed-toe shoes

  • Free parking available at VMM with ticket – please collect parking pass from museum.

  • Guests must arrange their own return transportation from Richmond

  • No cancellations within 48 hours and no refund will be applied.A full refund is offered 2 weeks prior to departure. Gikumi Expedition may be cancelled due to inclement weather, mechanical issues, or low sign-ups. You will be notified as soon as possible and provided a full refund.
