Where is the camp located?

Where do I drop-off and pick-up my child?

Drop-off and pick-up will take place outside the museum’s front entrance on the north side (facing the water).

Preparing for Camp

What are the hours of the camp?

The camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday (Tuesday-Friday the week of B.C. Day).

What should I know about drop off and pick up?

• Drop-off time is between 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
• Pick-up time is between 3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Parents/Guardians will be required to fill in a check-in sheet each morning providing information about who will be picking up their camper(s) at the end of the day. Please bring I.D. when picking up your camper(s).
• Parents/Guardians are required to assess their camper(s) for COVID-19 symptoms before arriving at camp. If you, your child or any members of your household/pod develop any related Covid-19 symptoms, DO NOT come to camp.

What do I do in the event of a late arrival/pick-up and cancellation?

• If you are late to drop-off or pick-up or are going to miss a day of camp, please let us know as soon as possible at (604) 257-8312 or by email at bookings@vanmaritime.com
• Please refer to the “Cancellation & Late Pick Up Policy – VMM DAY CAMPS 2023” for information regarding late fee charges, absences and refunds due to Covid-19.

What should my child bring to camp?

• ​Lunch is not provided. Please pack a lunch as well as a morning snack. Afternoon snack will be provided.
• Please ensure lunches and snacks are nut-free.
• We recommend preparing a cold, unrefrigerated lunch for your child. Microwaves are not available.
• Pack a water bottle!
• Running shoes and comfortable clothing that can get dirty are recommended for campers.
• A change of clothes is recommended.
• Sunscreen (applied before arrival), a hat, and a raincoat (depending on the weather) are suggested. Please supply your child with an easy to apply (preferably spray-on) sunscreen that they can reapply themselves during the day. Staff will not directly apply sunscreen on your child.
• We would prefer that your child does not bring a mobile device to camp. Any such devices will be stored in a secure office for safekeeping for the duration of each camp day.

Do you provide any snacks?

Yes. We provide an afternoon snack for all campers. Please let staff know if you do not want your child to not receive this.

Safety

What COVID-19 safety measures are in place to ensure the safety of my child?

• The Vancouver Maritime Museum is regularly cleaned, and the surfaces of interactives and touchable surfaces are disinfected throughout the day.
• Items are personal and for the use of each camper.
• Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout our center.
