Bowen Island Heritage Cruise

A one-of-a-kind day on the water exploring the history and beauty of the Salish Sea on board Gikumi
Thursday, July 9th + Thursday, July 23rd + Saturday, August 15th | 10:30AM – 5:00PM | $220 - Ticket Required

Set sail from the Vancouver Maritime Museum for a one-of-a-kind day on the water exploring the history and beauty of the Salish Sea.

This special summer cruise departs from Heritage Harbour aboard the classic vessel Gikumi, guided by experienced captain and storyteller John Turpin. As you travel through English Bay and Howe Sound, enjoy live interpretation sharing the maritime history of Vancouver, the working waterfront, and the fascinating past of Bowen Island.

After the scenic 90-minute cruise, you’ll arrive at Snug Cove on Bowen Island with three hours to explore at your own pace. Wander the charming waterfront village, enjoy local cafés and shops, take in coastal views, or follow one of the island’s peaceful forest trails before returning to the harbour for the afternoon cruise back to Vancouver.

This small-group experience offers a relaxed and immersive way to connect with the region’s maritime heritage while enjoying a summer day on the water.
