Earth Day: Beach Clean with Surfrider Foundation

Join the Earth Day Beach Clean-Up with Surfrider Foundation Vancouver and Vancouver Maritime Museum!
Saturday, April 19th 10am – 11:30am Register for Free - participants will also have free access to the Vancouver Maritime Museum

On Saturday, April 19th, Surfrider Foundation Vancouver will be cleaning up and sorting the waste collected at Hadden Beach, and we need your help. Our cleanups are a fun and easy way to connect with our strong community of like-minded coastal defenders!

You can help as a BEACH CLEANUP VOLUNTEER, we supply buckets and hand pickers, or you can bring your own (tongs work great too!). Alternatively, you can join us as a LITTER SORTER VOLUNTEER and help sort through what people bring back to us during this cleanup. As a litter sorter, this is a great way to learn not just about picking up litter, but also about sorting it into various categories for recycling and proper disposal education.

Safety First: We have a supply of buckets, work gloves, and pickers. But please bring your own gloves and equipment if you have it available! For safety reasons please wear closed toed shoes and always use a picker to sift through the sand to avoid sharp objects. If you come across any sharp or hazardous object, mark it and tell us, our team can handle the safe removal.

Location: Meet us at the Surfrider tent which will be in front of the Vancouver Maritime Museum.

Surfrider Foundation Vancouver is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the ocean, beaches, and waves, for all people, through a powerful activist network. We are the Vancouver Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation Canada. We are an entirely volunteer-run team of everyday citizens who host monthly events to educate and engage the Vancouver community in protecting our urban coastline.
