About Dr. James Raffan
Dr. James Raffan is one of Canada’s most respected writers, explorers, and storytellers. The author of more than twenty books and hundreds of articles, he has spent a lifetime travelling Canada’s rivers, landscapes, and cultural frontiers in search of the stories that shape who we are.
A former geographer and educator, Raffan has served as Governor of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and Chair of the Arctic Institute of North America. Through his writing, speaking, and performances, he brings history, adventure, and human experience vividly to life.
