Tour with Zoe George
Join səlil ̕wətaʔɬ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh artist Zoe George (Mekwalya) for a guided walkthrough of our latest exhibition, snəxʷəł, which means ‘canoe’ in the traditinoal language of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh.
Guided by Zoe’s expert insights and artistic perspective, visitors will enjoy learning about the importance and presence of canoe culture in First Nations communities across the Lower Mainland. The exhibition features traditional canoes, paddles, photographs and a video on the importance of canoe culture.
Occurring every fourth Saturday of the month starting on July 27th, these tours are designed for groups of up to 15 participants, ensuring a personalized and engaging experience for all attendees. The artist will guide you through the exhibition, giving you time to connect with the work and ask questions as you go.
These tours are open to everyone to book, however, if you would like to inquire about a private tour for you and your group please contact us at bookings@vanmaritime.com, and we will get back to you. Please arrive promptly before the tour time. Your ticket also includes General Admission to the museum for the whole day.
