The W.B. & M.H. Chung Library
W.B. & M.H. Chung Library
The W.B. and M.H. Chung Library was built in 1993 thanks to the generosity of its namesakes, Drs. Wallace and Madeline Chung. The Library provides public access to information about maritime history, art, culture and technology.
The Library holds over 13,000 books and published manuscripts dating 1678-present; and 510 bound and unbound periodicals. The primary focus of the collection is the maritime history of the Pacific and Arctic, specifically Vancouver and coastal British Columbia.
For information about research services, ordering reproductions, or other information please contact the librarian & archivist at email@example.com. See the bottom of this page for a schedule of fees.
Visiting the Library
The W.B. and M.H. Chung Library is a reference library, which means all the books have to stay in the library, but it is open to the public to come and view books onsite. We are open to the public by appointment. To book an appointment, please reach out to the Librarian & Archivist to confirm what you would like to look at. Check out our catalogue to find out which books you would like to see: https://chunglibrary.slls.online/.
Please refer to our Reference Room Guidelines. Researchers may bring laptop computers as the Library does not provide computers for word processing or other software applications.
HELP US ADD BOOKS TO THE LIBRARY
Please considering buying a book for the library from our wish list with Massy Books.
All you need to do is select the “donate books” button below to see our wish list on the Massy Books website. You can buy the books directly from Massy Books and add “VMM” to the instructions. Massy Books will make sure the Vancouver Maritime Museum gets the book.
This initiative will help the W.B and M.H. Chung Library and a local bookstore, which doubles the impact of your generous gift.
